Students in the United States and the United Kingdom have started rapping about scientists and scientific discoveries among many other things. Rap competitions of such nature have even been held.

"It's about harvesting the power of urban youth culture. Once they are able to incorporate the arts and their culture into the science content, they take it and they run with it," said Christopher Emdin, a professor of education at Columbia University's Teacher's College.
