NTU Medicine School Sets Higher School Fees
According to a report from The Straits Times, the new Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) recently announced that it would set its school fees at $30,000, $7,000 more than the National University of Singapore's Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Nevertheless, over 800 A Level and diploma holders have applied for the 50 places there.
NTU's Associate Provost, Professor Kam Chan Hin, pointed out that even with an annual fee of $30,000, it is still cheaper than if one were to attend a medical school overseas. The reason the fees are set as such is to reflect the high quality of training the School will provide, including the use of the new Anatomage Table. Student-teacher ratios will also be small, and the school is staffed with both local and international clinicians and scientists.
